A marketing resume should be in a functional format that allows you to list your work experience and relevant skills concisely and clearly. Besides listing your objective, qualifications and education in your marketing resume, you should also create a special section for your achievements. Proper phrasing is also important - avoid using "I" or "me", for example, instead of saying "I overshot my sales target by 20 percent and I was given a special increment by the marketing director", it is better to write it as "overshot my sales target by 20 percent, and was given a special increment by the marketing director."
Another point to note is that you should connect your skills to your job history including linking new skills to jobs done. Highlight the special expertise that you brought to your current job.
