A teacher resume should highlight the important points that make you stand out as a teacher. This includes your uniqueness in teaching such as developing techniques for students' learning and contributions to students' progress in class and their well-being. If you have experience teaching children or adolescents, this often presents a great advantage as it shows evidence to your potential as a teacher.
If you are a beginning teacher, your resume should not be more than one page. If you have two or more years of experience in the classroom, in May you need two pages to fully pass on your experiences and contributions to the classroom and school.
A Teacher's Resume Should Include:
1. Identification: Include your name, address, phone and e-mail. Your name should be in the greatest impression on the page, three or four sizes larger than the other characters.
2. Certification: a list of your references to certification and all, and date. "Illinois Initial Secondary Certificate in Mathematics, expected December 2001. Approval expected in Middle Grade Mathematics." Once you have your certificate, delete the date and the list rather than the number of the certificate, for example: # 1234567.
3. Teaching Experience: Use the list of action verbs, located on the left of this page to describe your experiences in the classroom. They particularly to take note of your skills classroom management or strategies, teaching methods you use, experience with students with special needs, and interactions with parents. Include the job title, where you have done this activity, and when (Student Teacher, DuSable High School, Spring 2001.)
4. Experience: This is where you list paid work or not, who gave you the experience that will help you be a better teacher - camp counselor, tutor, etc. You can also list science or mathematics jobs in this section.
